A Ritual Worth Savoring

Ethnico coffee is made for slow mornings, mindful moments, and everyday grounding.

Why We’re Passionate About Single Origin Coffee

Single origin coffee is more than just a drink—it’s a story in every sip. Like a fine whisky or wine, each cup captures the essence of its origin, shaped by the unique combination of altitude, soil, climate, and the care of skilled farmers.

With single origin coffee, you’re tasting the identity of a specific place—a snapshot of its character, culture, and craftsmanship.

Every bean carries the imprint of where it was grown, offering a depth of flavour and authenticity that blends simply can’t match.

At Ethnico, we believe that coffee should be celebrated in its purest form. By choosing single origin, you’re not just drinking coffee—you’re connecting to the land, the people, and the heritage that make each cup truly extraordinary.

Expertly Sourced, Ethically Grown

Our coffees are grown in two of Latin America's most renowned coffee regions. Each location's unique terroir contributes to the distinctive character of our beans.

In the highlands of Antioquia, Colombia, our Colombian beans thrive at 1,100-1,500 meters above sea level. Meanwhile, our Guatemalan beans grow in the volcanic soils of Antigua at elevations of 1,400-1,700 meters, surrounded by three majestic volcanoes.

These high-altitude growing conditions, combined with careful cultivation and traditional processing methods, ensure exceptional quality in every bean.

Why We Sell Only Whole Coffee Beans

At Ethnico, we believe that great coffee starts with freshness—and nothing beats grinding your beans just before you brew. Pre-ground coffee may be convenient, but it loses its vibrant flavour and rich aroma within days of being processed. By contrast, whole beans lock in their freshness, preserving the complex notes and character of the coffee until the moment you’re ready to enjoy them.

But it’s not just about taste. Coffee pods and pre-ground options contribute significantly to environmental waste, with millions of pods ending up in landfills every year. That’s why we’re committed to offering only whole beans, empowering you to brew better coffee while reducing your impact on the planet.

Whether you’re new to whole beans or already a seasoned grinder, we’ve got you covered with starter bundles that include a grinder and brewing essentials—so you can enjoy the freshest, most sustainable coffee experience possible.

Transform Your Morning Ritual

A great cup of coffee is so much more than just a drink—it’s a moment of connection to yourself and the world around you. In the stillness of the morning, as the rich aroma fills the air, coffee becomes an anchor. It’s that first deep inhale that grounds you, the familiar warmth of the cup in your hands, and the sip that transforms the mundane into the extraordinary.

At Ethnico, we believe your morning coffee ritual is sacred. It’s a pause before the day unfolds, a chance to savour not just the complex flavours in your cup but the calm and focus it brings to your mind. Whether you’re enjoying a quiet moment alone or sharing it with someone you love, coffee is a daily act of care, mindfulness, and intention.

With Ethnico coffee, every cup becomes a celebration of quality, sustainability, and connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of coffee do you sell?

We sell premium, single-origin Arabica coffee beans from two of Latin America’s most celebrated regions: Colombia and Guatemala. Our focus is on quality and simplicity — no blends, no robusta, no gimmicks. Just exceptional whole beans that showcase the flavour and character of their origin.

Why only whole beans?

We’d be doing our customers — and our coffee — a disservice by selling it pre-ground. Once ground, coffee starts to lose its flavour and aroma almost immediately. Whole beans preserve the freshness, depth, and complexity of the coffee until you’re ready to brew. It’s the best way to enjoy the full character of each origin — and it’s better for the planet too, helping to cut down on waste from pods and excess packaging.

How is my coffee shipped, and how long does it take?

We ship all orders via Evri and aim to dispatch the same day or the next working day. Delivery typically takes 2–3 days after dispatch. You’ll receive a tracking link as soon as your coffee is on its way.

How do you ensure your coffee stays fresh?

We pack all our beans in bags fitted with a one-way valve — a small but important feature that makes a big difference. This valve allows natural gases released after roasting to escape without letting oxygen in, helping preserve the coffee’s flavour and aroma. Most supermarket coffee bags don’t include this, which means beans either go stale quickly or need to be opened early to release pressure, both of which compromise freshness. Our valve-sealed bags keep your coffee in peak condition until you’re ready to enjoy it.

What’s the best way to store my coffee at home?

For the best flavour, we recommend transferring your beans into an airtight, opaque coffee tin after opening. Light, air, and moisture can all compromise freshness — a proper coffee canister keeps your beans protected and tasting their best. Avoid storing coffee in clear containers, near heat sources, or in the fridge. A cool, dark cupboard is ideal. And don’t worry — as part of our welcome email series, you'll receive a full guide on how to store your coffee properly, so you can enjoy every cup at its best.

Do I need a coffee grinder to enjoy Ethnico coffee?

Yes — all our coffee is sold as whole beans to give you the freshest, most flavourful brew possible. Grinding just before you brew helps preserve the aroma, complexity, and character of the beans. We recommend investing in a burr grinder, which offers consistent grind size and better control, key to a balanced cup. If you’re not ready to invest just yet, a blade grinder can be a good starting point. Just keep in mind that they can be inconsistent, chopping unevenly, which may lead to bitter or weak brews. As part of our welcome email series, we’ll send you a full guide on brewing methods, grind sizes, and how to get the best from your Ethnico beans, whatever your setup.

What's the best way to brew Ethnico coffee?

Our single-origin beans are crafted to taste great however you brew — whether you prefer a French press, V60, AeroPress, moka pot, or espresso machine. As part of your welcome email series, you’ll receive two helpful resources: How to Brew the Perfect Coffee – a step-by-step guide to help you master your daily ritual Coffee Brewing Methods Explained – a breakdown of popular brewing styles and which works best for your setup These guides are designed to help you get the best flavour from every bean, every time.

Is your coffee freshly roasted?

Our coffee is expertly roasted in small batches and delivered to us fresh. However, we don’t roast ourselves, and we don’t display roast dates on our packaging. Why? Because freshness can be misunderstood. Coffee needs a short rest after roasting, and while ultra-fresh sounds appealing, too fresh can actually mean underdeveloped flavour. We work closely with our roaster to ensure that what you receive is rested, balanced, and at its flavour peak — ready to brew and enjoy.

Is your coffee organic or certified?

Our Colombian coffee is Rainforest Alliance Certified, which means it’s grown according to rigorous environmental, social, and economic standards — supporting farmers and promoting more sustainable practices. Our Guatemalan coffee is not certified, but it is sourced through trusted partners who focus on quality and responsible trade relationships. Many small farms, like the ones we work with, may follow sustainable practices but lack the resources to obtain official certifications. At Ethnico, we prioritise flavour, traceability, and ethical sourcing over labels alone. Certifications can be valuable, but they’re not the only way to ensure quality or fairness. In fact, some of the best-tasting and most responsibly grown coffees come from smaller farms without certifications. We're not perfect, but we’re committed to doing better every day — and we welcome your feedback as we grow.

What makes Ethnico sustainable and ethical?

At Ethnico, we believe better coffee starts with better choices — for people and the planet. We only source single-origin Arabica beans from trusted farms in Latin America, working with importers who prioritise fair pricing, transparent supply chains, and long-term farmer relationships. Our Colombian coffee is Rainforest Alliance Certified, ensuring environmental protection and sustainable livelihoods. While our Guatemalan coffee isn’t certified, it comes from farms committed to quality and ethical practices. We use plastic-free packaging wherever possible, and by selling only whole beans, we reduce reliance on pods and over-processed formats that contribute to landfill waste. We’re not perfect, but we’re always trying to do better. We welcome feedback from our customers and community as we continue to grow Ethnico in a way that’s thoughtful, transparent, and future-focused.

What is the Latin American Basket?

The Latin American Basket is our signature two-coffee set, designed to help you discover Ethnico's premium single-origin beans. It includes one 250g bag of Colombian Medellín and one 250g bag of Guatemalan Antigua — two distinct origins, each with their own unique flavour profile. We created this basket as the perfect way for new customers to explore both coffees before deciding which suits their taste. Whether you're a seasoned home brewer or just starting your journey with whole beans, it’s a simple, satisfying upgrade from your usual brew.

Do you offer subscriptions?

Yes — once you’ve found the coffee you love, you can subscribe to get it delivered on your schedule. You can choose deliveries every 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 weeks. Subscriptions come with free shipping, and you’re free to skip, pause or cancel anytime. We don’t push subscriptions on new customers. First-time buyers can try our Latin American Basket and decide if they’d like to subscribe later.

Can I choose which origin I get in my subscription?

The Latin American Basket is a curated pairing of two single-origin coffees — one from Guatemala and one from Colombia. It's designed to help you explore and compare both origins before choosing your favourite. At the moment, the origins are fixed so we can ensure a consistent and balanced tasting experience. Once you've tried them, you can order your preferred origin individually or set up a subscription for your favourite.

Absolutely. Our Latin American Basket makes a thoughtful gift for any coffee lover — simple, high quality, and beautifully packaged.
