How To Unlock the Perfect Brew

Below, you’ll find step-by-step instructions for the most popular brewing methods. Choose your favorite and elevate your daily ritual.
1. How to Grind Your Beans
The grind size depends on your brewing method. Here’s a quick guide:
Coarse Grind: Ideal for French Press or Cold Brew.
Medium-Coarse Grind: Best for Chemex or Drip Coffee.
Medium Grind: Perfect for Pour Over (e.g., Hario V60) or Aeropress.
Fine Grind: Suited for Espresso machines.
2. Brewing Methods
French Press
Grind: Coarse
Coffee to Water Ratio: 1:15 (e.g., 30g coffee to 450ml water)
Steps:
- Boil water and let it cool slightly.
- Add ground coffee to the French Press.
- Pour in water, stir gently, and place the lid on.
- Let it steep for 4 minutes.
- Press down the plunger slowly and enjoy!
Pour Over (Hario V60)
Grind: Medium
Coffee to Water Ratio: 1:16 (e.g., 25g coffee to 400ml water)
Steps:
- Place a filter in the V60 and rinse with hot water.
- Add ground coffee and pour a small amount of water to bloom for 30 seconds.
- Slowly pour the remaining water in a circular motion.
- Allow the coffee to drip through and enjoy!
Espresso
Grind: Fine
Coffee to Water Ratio: 1:2 (e.g., 18g coffee to 36ml water)
Steps:
- Fill the portafilter with ground coffee and tamp it evenly.
- Lock the portafilter into the machine.
- Brew for 25-30 seconds.
- Enjoy a rich, velvety espresso!
Cold Brew
Grind: Coarse
Coffee to Water Ratio: 1:8 (e.g., 100g coffee to 800ml water)
Steps:
- Add ground coffee to a large jar or pitcher.
Pour in cold water and stir. - Cover and let it steep in the fridge for 12-24 hours.
- Strain through a coffee filter or fine mesh sieve and enjoy over ice!
